In order to improve the educational and cultural understanding and exchanges between China and the African Union Commission, and also to implement the MoU signed by Tianjin University of Technology and Education (TUTE) and the African Union Commission (AUC) in December 2015, TUTE invites twenty (20) officials from AUC to attend the program in China. The program is designed to conduct various kinds of activities to strengthen the friendship, mutual trust and the advantage of cooperation between China and the AUC.
In her opening remarks, Professor Liu Xin, President of TUTE, welcomed the AUC officials to the first higher vocational and technical university in China. She underlined the achieved fruitful results in people-to-people exchange between China and the AUC. Professor Xin gave also background about technical and vocational education training programme of TUTE, from which more than 10,000 local teachers and students from Asia and Africa have been benefited. The number of trainees from Africa has reached more than 1,000 from more than 30 countries.
On behalf of the Chairperson of the AUC H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and the African Union Commission (AUC) Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Erastus Mwencha the representative of the AUC participants Mr. Lowole Madalitso Mvuso thanked TUTE for the generous welcome and the initiative to host 2016 training programme. He highlighted the importance of the programme which contributes to the solid foundation of Sino-African relations as well as the renaissance of Africa and China. Mr. Mvuso spoke about the priorities and aspirations of Africa reflected in Agenda 2063 The Africa We want document.
The training program includes lectures on certain subjects, seminars, visits in Tianjin and to Beijing. The lectures will apply multimedia, case study and question solution methods, delivered by officials and famous scholars in educational field. The content involves mode and operational mechanism of higher education in China, current situation and the future of Africa-China educational exchange, current situation and development of vocational education in China, as well as the introduction of Chinese culture. In addition, the programme will conduct seminars in terms of China-Africa vocational education exchange and cooperation and talents cultivation. Meanwhile, the participants will have a deeper understanding for Chinese higher education and vocational education, so as to establish an all-round partnership between Africa and China in educational, cultural and other fields.
