On Sunday (7/1), the Indonesian Ambassador, Sunarko, attended and delivered a speech at the Silatul Afkar PCINU with PBNU with the theme “Drinking Sari Pati Khazanah Tasawuf.”

This activity is also an introduction to the opening of the Biweekly Halaqah which will be carried out continuously by PCINU Sudan.

Present as a guest speaker were K.H. Ulil Abshar Abdalla, Chairman of the PBNU Institute for Research and Development of Human Resources (Lakpesdam) and Kyai Dr. Ribut Nur Huda., M.Pd.I., MA. as Mustasyar PCINU Sudan.

Starting his remarks, Ambassador Sunarko appreciated the theme of the webinar which is very important and relevant to be discussed at this time, especially for Indonesian students in Sudan considering that Sudan is also famous for its Sufism (Sufism). There are many scholars and tariqahs in Sudan who have their own interesting ways to learn and understand.

Ambassador Sunarko also said that the Indonesian Embassy would continue to support positive activities like this, especially if it is carried out routinely, so that it can have a positive impact on Indonesian student activities.

Meanwhile, K.H. Ulil Abshar Abdalla in his lecture conveyed, among other things, the urgency and importance of knowledge and understanding of pure Sufism for Muslims which is a means to be able to understand something that is invisible/essential.

Meanwhile, Kyai Dr. Ribut Nur Huda in his presentation conveyed the development of Sufism in Sudan which is divided into 2 phases, classical and modern, and its application in Sudan so that nearly 80% of the Sudanese population follow a tarekat.

In closing, the Ambassador stressed, the success of students abroad is not only measured by the success of their studies but when they return to Indonesia they can make a contribution and contribute in building and improving the intellectuality of the people.
