In an effort to strengthen cooperation between the Indonesian sharia economy and the halal industry between Indonesia and Sudan, the Indonesian Ambassador to Khartoum, Mr. Sunarko accompanied by PF Ekonomi on Wednesday (15/3) made a visit and meeting with the Secretary General of the Sudanese Halal Goods and Services Council, Dr. Ali Abd Elraziq Ali Lutfi.
During the meeting, Indonesian Ambassador Sunarko conveyed information on the latest developments in Indonesia regarding the acceleration of the development of the halal industry to become the World's Leading Halal Producer. Indonesia seeks to take advantage of the demographic bonus as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. Indonesia also takes advantage of digitalization in developing halal industry business activities.
“The potential for the halal industry sector in Indonesia is enormous, especially in the food and beverage, cosmetics, tourism, pharmaceutical and fashion sectors which can be developed by the two countries,” continued Ambassador Sunarko.
Meanwhile, dr. Ali Abd Elraziq Ali Lutfi conveyed the development of the halal industry sector in Sudan and hoped to strengthen cooperation in various halal industrial sectors of the two countries, including cooperation in developing capacity building in the halal industry sector.
Indonesia and Sudan continue to be committed to increasing cooperation in the development of the halal industry through various activities. Sudan also participated in the 2019 Halal Indonesia Expo which was held in Jakarta in June 2019.
