Santiago Zannou wins the Spanish Goya award

Director Santiago Zannou has recently won the Goya award in Madrid, according to the website cinemafrica.org.

“Great success for the first movie of the young AfroSpanish director, Santiago Zannou, son of immigrants from Benin: El Truco del manco (literally” The trick of Monco”), which arises from his personal experiences of a child of immigrants and speaks of hip hop and social exclusion is interpreted by a non-professional actor, Juan Manuel Montilla nicknamed “El Langua” singer of the Spanish hip hop group The Excepción”.
