Readout of UN Secretary-General’s meeting with Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda
NEW YORK, November 30, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The Secretary-General met today with the President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Mr. Paul Kagame.
They discussed developments in the Great Lakes region, including in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as peace and security matters in the region. They also discussed Rwanda’s initiatives to promote the UN agenda on Millennium Development Goals and Peacebuilding.
The Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to President Kagame’s Government for its support for United Nations peacekeeping efforts, and particularly those in Darfur and South Sudan.
