Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva joked on Thursday that he expected the hosts to play Brazil in the final of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
“For those who don’t know, this photo reflects what will be the World Cup final,” Lula told photographers during his meeting with South African President Jacob Zuma in Brasilia.
Brazil has already won five editions of the World Cup, but South Africa would surprise most if it were to reach the tournament final despite playing at home.
Lula is to visit South Africa on July 9 and has already said he will attend the World Cup final on July 11 even if Brazil does not get to play it.
