1 Following the presidential election in Côte d’Ivoire held on October 25, the constitutional council of the country publicly announced the final results on November 2 that Mr. Alassane Ouattara had been re-elected as president. Japan welcomes the fact that the election took place in a peaceful manner, and congratulates President Ouattara for his re-election.
2 Japan hopes that, under the leadership of President Ouattara, Côte d’Ivoire will make further progress in economic and social development. In this regard, Japan will continue to support Ivorian efforts and strengthening friendly and cooperative relationship with Côte d’Ivoire.
