President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea to visit the AUC Headquarters tomorrow 27 May 2016

South Korea’s President H.E Mme. Park Geun-hye will on Friday 27 May 2016 pay a courtesy visit to the Leadership of the African Union Commission (AUC).

President Geun-hye is the first President of the Republic of South Korea to visit the African Union. The event will take place as from 9:30 am at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

During her visit President Park Geun-hye will meet with H.E Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the AU Commission. The two female leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks on issues concerning Africa and South Korea’s cooperation and development, before proceeding to the AUC plenary hall (Mandela Hall) to deliver a public statement in the presence of the diplomatic corps, the African and international communities based in Addis Ababa, officials and staff of the AU Commission and invited guests. 

Journalists are invited to cover the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to the AU Headquarters. Kindly note that the journalists should arrive before 8:00 am to facilitate management of their participation during the public address in the AUC Plenary Hall.

Accredited journalists should bring along their AU press badges while those journalists who are not accredited to the AU should print a copy of this invitation and present to the AU Security at the gate, alongside their official press badges from the Ethiopian Ministry of Information.
