President El-Sisi Speaks with Prime Minister of Iraq

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke with Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that the Iraqi Prime Minister extended his greetings to the President on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing Egypt and its people lasting progress and prosperity. Prime Minister Al-Sudani praised the close and historic fraternal ties between Egypt and Iraq, stressing Iraq's keenness to promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and expressed his appreciation for Egypt's efforts in support of Iraqi affairs at all levels and its vital role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action in the face of current crises and challenges in the region.

President El-Sisi expressed his sincere gratitude for this fraternal gesture, wishing Iraq and its brotherly people all the best and prosperity, affirming Egypt’s unwavering support for the security and stability of Iraq, the pride it takes in the deep and robust strategic relations between the two countries, and the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.

During the call, they exchanged views on a number of Arab and regional issues of mutual interest as well as Egyptian-Iraqi efforts to strengthen trilateral cooperation with Jordan.
