The Libyan transitional authorities are continuing to push for a peaceful resolution to the standoff in Bani Walid, a Gaddafi stronghold southeast of Tripoli.
Libyan fighters have surrounded the town and given remnants of Gaddafi forces two deadlines to surrender. Both the deadlines have passed.
