NEMA Edo operations office participated in a simulation Exercise at Benin Airport. Stimulating an aircraft crash at the approach runway 23. The Airport crash Alarm went off at 10.15hrs alerting the airport of aircraft incident. The full emergency procedure was initiated. The following agencies responded: the Federal Fire Service, Edo State Fire Service, NEMA, the Integrated Data Services Limited (IDSL) and NPDC fire service. Red Cross, NNPC Medical Center and the Military Hospital in conjunction with FAAN Aviation Medical Clinics were fully on ground to carry out their responsibilities.

AVSEC, Police and the Nigerian Airforce were on ground to provide security.

After the excercise, all the participants converged at the Fire Bay for debriefing of the excercise. Comments, observations were noted. The General manager ARFFS, Osubi Airport manager and HOD ARFFS Osubi, Asaba Airport personnel were on ground to observe the mock exercise.

It was noted by observers and NCAA officers that all participating agencies responded on time and carried their expected roles.

The exercise was declared closed by Airport manager Ibrahim Abdul-Azeez A at about 1.45hrs.
