ROME, Italy, December 3, 2012/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi had a telephone meeting today with the new Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Tewodros Adhanom, to whom he extended congratulations on this prestigious appointment, underscoring that the excellent existing relations between Rome and Addis Ababa must be the basis on which to build an even more intense political and commercial exchange.
They also discussed Italian Cooperation support activities in an Ethiopia increasingly linked to Italy by a development partnership, and the main African recipient of Italian aid, and where a strengthening of triangular development cooperation involving other donor partners is envisioned.
Minister Terzi also invited the new Ethiopian minister to visit Rome in the near future, in exchange for his own visit to Addis Ababa in May with a delegation of business persons interested in the opportunities offered by an economy that is currently among the top ten in the world for growth.
