The Heads of observer and information Missions of the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the International Organization of la Francophonie (OIF) and the Community of Sahel- Saharan States (CEN-SAD) as well as the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for West Africa met to exchange information on the conduct of the February 21st , 2016 presidential and legislative elections.
They have noted that the presidential and legislative elections in the Republic of Niger took place in a calm and serene environment.
The Heads of Missions congratulate the people and the political actors of Niger for the patience and the civic responsibility demonstrated during the electoral process.
Pursuant to the INEC decree n° 076/P/CENI of February 21, 2016 on the continuation of voting operations in certain polling stations, the Heads of Missions call on the voters to exercise their right in calm and serenity.
