Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, as part of meetings with officials participating in the International Congress on Women of Influence, held separate meetings and talks with heads of delegations from 7 African countries present in the congress on Sunday, including the minister of industries and trade of Zimbabwe, the ministers of women and family of Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Cameroon, as well as the governor of the Conakry region of Guinea Conakry.
During the meetings, the foreign minister underlined expansion of ties and bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and African countries and highlighted the great capacity for development of relations.
The foreign minister also stressed that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously seeking to expand cooperation with Africa, especially in the economic sphere.
The heads of the delegations participating in the congress also underscored the need for continuation of such meetings and hailed the prominent standing of women in Iran.
