Interview with Latifa Akharbach, secretary of state foreign ministry, Morocco
This is a brief interview with Latifa Akharbach, secretary of state to the minister of foreign affairs and cooperation of Morocco.
The interview was done just minutes ago after the international meeting in Palermo, Italy, for the new EU policy for the Mediterranean.
Bonjour Madame.
What are the advantages for the people of Morocco after this Mediterranean Fund that is presented today in Palermo?
Morocco has always been militant for any intraregional project that has as a goal the building of the wellbeing and of the development of its people.
We consider this fund a beautiful promise to build an integrated regional economic network where all components will meet together knowing that the SMEs, small and medium enterprises, are key economic actors not only in Morocco but also in the entire region.
In fact 95 per cent of the economic area is made by these SMEs.
So we wish that, in the context of the strategic euro-mediterranean rehabilitation, this fund will allow once more to meet each other again in this job for a shared prosperity and so it is really necessary to walk on a path of solidarity.
