His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan meets Prime Minister and Secretary General of Presidency in Cameroon

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, met with His Excellency Joseph Ngute, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cameroon. During the meeting, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to His Excellency and their wishes to his country and people for further progress and prosperity.

The two parties discussed cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of Cameroon and promising opportunities in the agricultural and ports sectors. They also stressed the importance of concerted efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation and praised the strength of deep-rooted ties.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan also met His Excellency Ferdinand Ngoh, Secretary-General of the Presidency of Cameroon, who conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cameroon to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stating that Cameroon is working to raise its diplomatic representation in the UAE. He also noted his country's intention to send a delegation to explore additional cooperation and joint action in various fields.

For his part, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan said: “The UAE and the Republic of Cameroon have enjoyed broad historical relations that we seek to strengthen and build upon. We look forward to the participation of the Republic of Cameroon in COP28, which the UAE will host in November 2023, and the exchange of experiences with regards to climate change.”

His Excellency welcomed the upcoming visit of the Cameroonian delegation to the UAE, during which meetings will be coordinated with Emirati companies to discuss investment opportunities that serve the two countries and their peoples.
