Côte d’Ivoire / UNOCI completes transport of election material

ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire, November 29, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ — The arrival on Monday 28 November 2011 of non-sensitive election material in the towns of Blolequin, Kouibly, Madinani and Toulepleu marked the completion by the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) of its operation to transport such materials.

UNOCI had begun, on Friday 25 November, the operation to transport by land and air non-sensitive material destined for use at the 11 December elections, within the framework of its support to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

UNOCI battalions escorted the material as it was being transported to the various departmental offices of the IEC from the commission’s warehouses in Vridi (Abidjan) and Yamoussoukro
