Communications Committee Recommends Films and Publications Amendment Bill to National Assembly

The Portfolio Committee on Communications, having deliberated clause-by-clause on the Films and Publications Amendment Bill [B 37B-2015], has adopted the report to recommend the Bill.

The Committee will now table the Bill in the National Assembly for debate and final adoption. “Members of the Committee have done well in ensuring that the work on this important piece of legislation is completed before the end of the year,” said Mr Humphrey Maxegwana, the Chairperson of the Committee.

On Friday, the Committee will meet with the Board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation to look into matters relating to the public broadcaster’s financial situation.
