Aurecon appoints new highways leader for Middle East and North Africa

DUBAI, UAE, February 9, 2015/African Press Organization (APO)/ — Ahmed El-Essnawi joined Aurecon (http://www.aurecongroup.com) last November as the Highways and Transport Infrastructure Leader for the Middle East and North Africa.

Based in Dubai, Ahmed is responsible for growing Aurecon’s Highways and Transport Infrastructure business in the Middle East and North Africa, especially in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the gulf countries.

Aurecon Unit Manager for Transport in the Middle East Ian Dudgeon said that Aurecon is committed to the region. “Our focus is on roads, rail and transport planning and we are bringing in senior people such as Ahmed, who have a track record in the Middle East, to lead each of these areas,” he said.

Prior to joining Aurecon, Ahmed was AECOM’s highways and bridges director in the Middle East, managing major highway projects including the Orbital Highway and Truck Road in Doha, Qatar, the King Abdullah Highway Extension in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Al Khail Road in Dubai, UAE.

Highly knowledgeable in the fields of highways and traffic engineering, Ahmed has experience in the geometric and structural design of highways, interchanges and local roads, as well as signage and road marking.

Ahmed said that he is excited to be working with the Aurecon team to strengthen relationships with our existing clients and develop relationships with new clients in the region.

Ahmed will have a key role implementing Aurecon’s strategy for growth in this sector with the objective of ensuring excellent service delivery to clients throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
