Africa can free itself from the bonds of the past”, Mrs Rosario Chailunga Fundanga, Country coordinator at the United Nations global compact for Zambia, said during her speech at the forum on Africa’s development in Taormina, Italy.

The environment, the human rights/labour and corruption were the main topics of her speech. “There has been an increase in realizing that improving the environment, human rights and tackling corruption can have a positive impact on the economic growth”, she added.

“Most governments in Africa today – Chailunga Fundanga concludes – appreciate public-private partnerships, the era of suspecting each other is slowly coming to an end. Although a lot still needs to be done with this improved relationship”.
