Ambassador of Thailand to Senegal paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Senegal

On 22 December 2022, Ambassador Thippawan Supamitkitja paid a courtesy call on H.E. Gen. Sékou Touré, Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Senegal. Both sides discussed ways to enhance relations between Thailand and Côte d’Ivoire, particularly in economic cooperation.

The two Ambassadors expressed their readiness to boost and facilitate trade and investment between both parties, regarding Côte d’Ivoire’s potential in agricultural products, for example, rubber, palm oil, coffee, cacao, cotton, cashew nuts, banana, and pineapple. On this occasion, the Thai Ambassador informed that the Royal Thai Embassy has a close and long-standing cooperation with the Ivorian side, for instance, the Embassy encouraged Thai business to invest more in Côte d’Ivoire, organized Thai Festival in Abidjan, organized business matching, as well as enhanced cooperation through the Honorary Consul in Abidjan.

In addition, Côte d’Ivoire is under the Royal Thai Embassy in Dakar’s accreditation, which the Government of Thailand has appointed Mr. Hassan Hyjazi as the Honorary Consul of Thailand to Côte d’Ivoire to promote all areas of Thailand’s interests, particularly economic area, as well as protect the rights and benefits of Thai nationals in Côte d’Ivoire.
