The High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Mauritius, Mr Muhammed Arshad Jan Pathan, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Prime Minister (VPM), Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, today, at her office in Phoenix.
Discussions mainly centered on the opportunity of cooperation in the education sector and further deepening bilateral relations between both countries.
In a statement, the High Commissioner expressed his appreciation regarding the courtesy visit on the VPM which he said was fruitful.
The meeting, he added, focused on the ways to increase capacity-building of Mauritians with regard to technical and vocational training programmes and likewise to have tailored programmes for Mauritians in Pakistan. The possibility of opening Pakistani universities and schools in Mauritius was highlighted by the High Commissioner.
He also spoke of the promotion of tourism, in terms of how Pakistan can benefit from the Mauritian expertise in this sector.
