Youth movement says Mubarak interrogator not neutral

The April 6 Youth Movement on Sunday accused Mostafa Abul Yosr, who is interrogating Hosni Mubarak, of partiality. In 2009, Abul Yosr was assigned to work as a legal advisor to state-owned EgyptAir and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, according to a document the movement obtained.

In a statement, it said Abul Yosr, who is one of the presidents of the Cairo Court of Cassation, was assigned by Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud to question the former president over charges of corruption and killing protesters during the 25 January revolution.

Abul Yosr’s contract with EgyptAir was renewed in February 2010 by Ahmed Shafiq, who was the Minister of Aviation at the time. He was hired to work for another year in the same position starting from May 2010, according to the same document.

The movement therefore concluded that a figure loyal to Ahmed Shafiq is handling the Mubarak investigation.

In a statement, the movement called on the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to dismiss the attorney general and form a committee to question Mubarak in preparation for a genuine trial.
