Deputy Minister of Communications to launch a Digital Skills Programme with Google in Limpopo

Deputy Minister of Communications, Ms Pinky Kekana will on Thursday, 30 August 2018 launch a digital skills programme in Limpopo. The programme will pair communities up to work together based on their level of digital engagement, it also enables the communities to arrange ongoing meet ups and Google South Africa will institute community awards in recognition of these efforts.

Through engaging at a community level the programme hopes to get more businesses and individuals online and equipped to take advantage of the opportunities the internet presents to them. In this way the programme is a catalyst for economic growth and development in the communities where it is adopted.

This programme will ensure that its participants have the ability to find, evaluate, utilize, share, and create content using information technologies and the Internet.
