Meeting between Mrs. Akie Abe, spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan, and Dr. Grace Mugabe, spouse of the President of the Republic of

On March 28, 2016, Mrs. Akie Abe, spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan, held a meeting with Dr. Grace Mugabe, spouse of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, who is paying an official working visit to Japan.
 

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Mrs. Abe welcomed Dr. Mugabe's visit to Japan at the beginning of the cherry blossom season and Dr. Mugabe responded with her appreciation for the invitation and expectation to visit to Kyoto. 

Dr. Mugabe introduced her social welfare work and activity as the Secretary for Women's Affairs of the ruling party of Zimbabwe. In response, Mrs. Abe expressed her sincere respect for Dr. Mugabe's activities and they exchanged views on some issues such as the current situation of the challenges surrounding children in Japan.
