Death of United Nations Volunteer assigned to The United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI)

The United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme regrets to announce the death of a United Nations Volunteer who was serving as civilian personnel in the Engineering Section of UNOCI. 

Mrs. Anita Andreevska Mitrovska was killed during the attack that took place on Sunday, 13 March in Grand-Bassam, outside of Abidjan, condemned by the Secretary – General of the United Nations.

The late Mrs Anita Andreevska Mitrovska had arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on 28 December, 2015 to take up her assignment as Camp Manager in Anankouakouté  for ONUCI. Originally from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Anita Andreevska Mitrovska had also served as a UN Volunteer from 2012 to 2015 in Afghanistan.

UNOCI and UNV are sincerely saddened and express their condolences to the late Mrs. Anita Andreevska Mitrovska family, friends and colleagues.
