The Secretary-General welcomes the progress made by the Comorian people in preparing the primary elections of the President of the Union of Comoros and the first round of the elections of the Governors of the Islands of Grand Comoros, Anjouan and Moheli, this Sunday, February 21 2016.
The Comorians have the collective responsibility to ensure that these elections are peaceful, credible and transparent. The United Nations, in collaboration with other international partners of the Comoros, will continue to support the Comorian people in their efforts to consolidate democracy and peace, and promote socio-economic development.
